We are committed to providing a safe environment for all participants, including Indigenous children and those from culturally or linguistically diverse backgrounds, and to providing a safe environment for children and adults living with a disability who participate. Child-safety must be embedded in our organisation’s culture, reflected in our policies and procedures, and understood and practised across all SSMG Programs. 

It is essential everyone involved with delivering SSMG programs understands the important responsibilities they have in relation to child-safety including club administrators, volunteers, parents and participants. Our commitment extends beyond creating an environment that minimises risk or danger. It is about building an environment that is both child-safe and child-friendly. Together we can provide an environment in which children feel respected, valued and encouraged to reach their full potential 

The SSMG Safeguarding Children framework honours the commitment to child protection through its recruitment and pre-employment screening practices, staff training and induction, incident reporting and management, and stakeholder engagement.
